1. Overview
We understand that travel plans can change. This policy sets out the fees that apply if you need to cancel or amend a confirmed Travmetto tour booking. Please read this carefully before confirming your reservation.
All cancellations must be made in writing via the Contact page or by email. Cancellation takes effect on the date we receive your written request.
2. Cancellation fees — standard tours
The following fees apply to cancellations of confirmed tour bookings:
| Notice period before departure | Cancellation fee |
|---|---|
| 45+ days | Deposit is non-refundable; remaining payments fully refunded |
| 30-44 days | 20% of total tour price charged |
| 15-29 days | 50% of total tour price charged |
| Within 14 days | 100% of total tour price charged |
Note: The deposit amount is 10% and stated in your booking confirmation.
3. Non-refundable components
Certain services booked on your behalf may be subject to stricter cancellation terms from our suppliers. These include, but are not limited to:
- Domestic flights - airline tickets may be fully non-refundable depending on the fare class. We will always inform you of applicable flight cancellation rules before purchase.
- Non-refundable hotel rates — some hotel rate types are non-refundable. If this applies to part of your accommodation, we will flag it at booking stage.
4. Amendment fees
Amendments to a confirmed booking (changes to dates, destinations, services, accommodation, or traveler names) are subject to availability and may incur charges:
| Amendment type | Fee |
|---|---|
| Minor changes (room type, name correction) | No charge if possible; supplier fees may apply |
| Date change (30+ days before departure) | Admin fee of EUR 30 per booking + any supplier difference |
| Date change (within 30 days of departure) | Treated as cancellation + new booking; standard fees apply |
| Itinerary change (add/remove cities or nights) | Price recalculated; difference charged or credited |
5. Cancellation by Travmetto
Travmetto reserves the right to cancel a tour in the following circumstances:
- Circumstances beyond our control - including natural disasters, government travel advisories, strikes, or force majeure events (see Section 6).
- Non-payment - if the balance is not received by the due date, the booking may be cancelled and the deposit forfeited.
Where Travmetto cancels a tour for reasons other than force majeure or non-payment, you will receive a full refund of all amounts paid.
6. Force majeure
If your tour is affected by events genuinely beyond our control — including war, terrorism, natural disasters, pandemics, closure of borders, or official government travel advisories — Travmetto will:
- Offer a full credit note valid for 24 months, or
- Offer an alternative tour of equal value, or
- Provide a partial refund of amounts not already committed to suppliers
In force majeure situations, we are not able to guarantee a full cash refund if costs have already been committed to suppliers on your behalf.
7. Refund processing
Approved refunds are processed within 14 business days of the cancellation confirmation. Refunds are issued to the original payment method. Processing times at your bank or card provider may add additional days.
8. Travel insurance
We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that covers trip cancellation. A suitable policy can protect you against the fees listed above in the event of illness, family emergency, or other unforeseen circumstances. Travmetto does not sell insurance.
